Here is the review for the movie Holiday. Watch out this space for more updates!

Rating:4/5 Review By:Taran Adarsh Site:Bollywood Hungama

On the whole, HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY is a slick action-thriller that keeps you engrossed, enthralled and captivated all through, thanks to its fascinating premise and a watertight, razor-sharp screenplay. Go for it!

Rating:4.5/5 Review By:Subhash K Jha Site:IANS

Akshay's character's basic argument that terrorism can only be countered when the counter-terrorists are as fearless about losing their lives as the terrorists, is put forward with such gusto and conviction, we really can't argue with the plot premise.
So here's your chance to go with the ferocious flow and not regret it for even a minute. Yes, the songs are like sleeping dogs that come awake at inopportune times to yelp out their melody-less messages. But the last farewell song, an ode to the dedication and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, will leave you moist eyed.
This is Akshay's most engaging entertainer in recent times.

Let's not confuse HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY with atypical Akshay Kumar film that tilts heavily towards humor and has an uninterrupted flow of gags. This one tackles serious issue -- terrorism -- and how a lone soldier sets out to annihilate the sleeper cells that are out to create mayhem in Mumbai. Sure, a number of films focusing on terrorism have made it to the big screen, especially post 9/11, but Murugadoss marries the serious issue and good old romance (Akshay-Sonakshi) most effortlessly. Of course, much like the original source, HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY veers towards the clash between a soldier and the terror forces, but the storyteller, who's eyeing the pan-India audience, makes sure he gives the masala movie lovers something more than that.

Don’t miss Holiday for the sheer fun of watching a film that wins solely for its delicious brutish action. The narrative isn’t exactly a work of genius with the logical apertures frequently getting the better of you. But Murugadoss doesn’t let go off the breakneck speed that Holiday benefits from. The film without the briskness would have failed to rise above the half decent mark. Don’t miss this one for the reckless headlong roller coaster ride it holds for you.
Holiday is mostly a delectable film. With Akshay’s superfluous action sequences beguiling you to watch a film which isn’t even close to as brainy. It isn’t a great film but surprisingly winsome and not entirely forgettable. Quite the value for the buck!

Rating:3.5/5 Review By:Madhureeta Mukherjee Site:Times of India

While the core plot is compelling and finely directed, the side-tracks - like bombs needing to be deactivated and the romantic angle, waste screen-time and the songs infiltrate the plot too often. The film is too long and needs a taut edit. It has flaws too, but doesn't fail to entertain.
Akshay's stunts are jaw-dropping; he's in top form and impressively leads the show without much support from his squadron of actors. Farhad (the lead villain) doesn't leave much impact; and Sonakshi slides in for the song and dance.
This one applauds the jawans who live in the jaws of death, and is a 'wake up' call for all the 'sleepers' that abound. Bravo!

Holiday lacks the sustained intensity and urgency of an edge-of-the-seat spy thriller.
The script does not allow Akshay Kumar to be the no-nonsense action hero that would have held the film in better stead.
His lover boy act only dilutes the larger-than-life persona of the fearless and single-minded mean machine that he is supposed to be.
Akshay strives hard to make the most of a bad deal. He wins a battle or two, but loses the war.
That, in a nutshell, is the story of the film as a whole.
