Which B’Town actor wooed you with his performance in 2014?

The B’Town actors forced us to the ticket counters once again. We saw some daredevil stunts, dances in exotic locations and some never-seen-before performance on the silver screen in 2014. While some wooed us with their intense performances, some maintained their lover boy image and yet managed to amaze us.

So, before we ring in the New Year, Pinkvilla has made a list of the leading men in Bollywood who gave some kickass performance:

Shahid Kapoor:

We saw Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Haider” this year. The actor played the titular character in this Bollywood adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. The first poster and trailer showed Shahid’s intense avatar. The actor even went bald for his role. He received positive response from the critics.

Salman Khan:

Salman Khan was seen in two movies in 2014 – “Jai Ho” and “Kick”. Though both the movies received mixed reviews, Salman’s performance was well received. His goofy antics and dangerous stunts were a big part of both the movies.

Shah Rukh Khan:

Farah Khan’s “Happy New Year” was Shah Rukh Khan’s only release this year. The superstar played Charlie who is the mastermind of a robbery. He played his character with an ease and it was quite visible.

Aamir Khan:

Aamir Khan was seen on the silver screen in Rajkumar Hirani’s “PK”. The actor played an alien, who in search of his missing locket questions people about god’s existence. Critics have praised the movie and also Aamir’s performance and even called it his best performance till date.

Hrithik Roshan:

Hrithik Roshan was seen on the silver screen in Siddharth Anand’s “Bang Bang!”. He jumped from buildings, rode a Formula One car, danced and romanced. Hrithik did it all in the movie, making it a complete package and paisa vasool movie. Though the movie received mixed responses from the critics, the actor was praised for his pitch perfect performance.

Ranveer Singh:

Ranveer Singh was seen in “Gunday” and “Kill/Dil” in 2014. In both the movies he plays a goon, but both the performances were delivered with ease by him. He also made a cameo appearance in Homi Adajani’s “Finding Fanny”. His short-lived appearance was called a high point of the movie.

Amitabh Bachchan:

Big B was in “Bhootnath Returns” in 2014. The movie was highly praised by the critics and some even tagged it as “It's entertainment, Bachchan style!” The megastar reprised his role of Bhootnath in the movie and was applauded for his performance.

Ajay Devgn:

Ajay Devgn was seen in “Singham Returns” and “Action Jackson” in 2014. The actor reprised the role of Bajirao Singham in “Singham Returns”, which is a sequel to “Singham”. He played a double role in “Action Jackson”. Both the movies saw him doing action sequences and his performance was well-received by the critics and the audience.

Abhishek Bachchan:

Abhishek Bachchan featured in Farah Khan’s “Happy New Year” in 2014. He played a double role in the movie and was seen as a street loafer Nandu Bhide and Vikki Grover, the son of a business tycoon. He was praised by the critics for his perfect comic timing. Abhishek also took home the Entertainer Of The Year and Best Supporting Actor Male trophy at Masala Awards 2014.

Arjun Kapoor

In 2014, Arjun Kapoor had three releases – “Gunday”, “2 States” and “Finding Fanny”. Each movie showed a different side of Arjun. While “Gunday” showed his raw and rugged look, in “2 States” he featured as a cute Punjabi boy and in “Finding Fanny” he played the boy lost in the woods. Arjun’s performances in these movies were well received by the audience and the critics.

Sidharth Malhotra:

The good boy of B’Town turned a baddy for Mohit Suri’s “Ek Villain”. Sidharth portrayed a gangster Guru in the movie who changes his lifestyle after he falls in love. Sidharth’s intense role in the movie won him positive responses from the critics.

Varun Dhawan:

Varun Dhawan made his Bollywood debut with “Student of the Year”. And the actor continued his lover boy image, which makes girls go gaga over him, in his next two movies too. In 2014, he was seen in “Main Tera Hero” and “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”. He was praised for his perfect comic timing and outstanding dance skills in the movies.

Akshay Kumar:

Akshay Kumar featured in three movies this year – “Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty”, “Entertainment” and “The Shaukeens”, where he played a cameo. His first movie received both critical and commercial success. The movie saw the actor do some daredevil stunts. His “Entertainment” received mixed reviews.
