This year the three ruling Khans of B’Town – Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan – will turn 50. Aamir will be the first one to enter the club on March 14, followed by SRK on November 2 and Salman on December 27. These three stars have not just given some extraordinary performances in Bollywood, but have also created and broken their own box-office records.
From romantic to action, comedy and drama and even sci-fi, Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir, have majored in all these genres. There star power is such that even with a not-so-good review, there movies manage to collect more than the total expense.
It is not that the ‘Khans’ are leaving Bollywood or nothing. They are romancing actresses half their age, so, honestly we feel they still have a long way to go. The Khan saga will still continue, but with so much budding talent in B’Town, we think there might be a possibility that the younger crop of actors might take over.
Though the Khans have been influencing our lives with some mesmerising performances over decades, the new generation stars are no less. They are not just gaining more fans by wooing them with their performances or looks, but they are enjoying a healthy competition amongst themselves.
They cheer for each other; they praise one another, something that really did not happen in the past. So these new stars are not influencing the audiences in a different way, but are also setting some new examples in B’Town.
There is no denying that SRK’s charisma, Aamir’s perfection and Salman’s dabangg style is unmatchable, but some of the new gen stars are slowly marching their way to the ultimate glory.
