The All India Bakchod (AIB) Roast is still making headlines. But now the debate is not whether the roast was right or wrong or abusive or offensive, it is now a war of words between bloggers sharing their views on Aamir Khan’s remarks on the show.

The superstar at an event said that said that there was a lot of violence in the show and that he was disappointed after hearing about it. This did not go down well with the audience and people spoke about how his movie ‘Delhi Belly’ was full of slangs and offensive words.

Since then some bloggers have been expressing their views on Aamir’s statement that have gone Viral. Here’s an excerpt from their blogs:

This blog titled ‘Why is Aamir Khan such a pretentious prick’ read that if you haven’t watched the show, and someone randomly told you there were jokes on body shape, sexuality, and religion without providing any context, it’s the partial truth. You’re like the blind man of Hindustan who held the elephant’s a** and thought that’s what an elephant looks like. The blogger further said that just like you’re an artist, there are others too. Who are attempting to make an honest living by pursuing what they think is art. If you really are an artist, at least have the f***ing decency to look up their work before commenting.

Another blogger in his post titled “Response to why is Aamir Khan such a pretentious prick” wrote that, “You agree or disagree with Aamir, it’s your choice. As said earlier, Aamir is not infallible. But at least don’t vilify him just because he has hurt your fat egos that are floating on sea of ‘Freedom of Expression’ that you think only you have the right to sail on and Aamir has no right to utilize it.”

“There should be healthy criticism against someone of Aamir’s caliber. No, we are not asking special treatment for him, but his 25-year-old career as an actor has some credibility and various achievements and it deserves a bit of respect even in criticism. You are no random rival actor fan who can just call him whatever you want. People admire him and he has a worldwide recognition and following.

By simply calling him prick, hypocrite, bias, and other words wont make your argument valid or any good. Aamir is certainly not above criticism, but be relevant and neutral in your criticism. Aamir shared his opinion as a gentleman but those who are bashing him really have no standards with choices of their words and tone they are unleashing on him,” it read.

A fan has now written an open letter citing reasons why people need to stop being so hard on Aamir. In his first argument he writes that the actor did not hear about the roast from some random people, but it was Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor who told him about it.

He then talks about ‘Bhaag D.K. Bose’ song from ‘Delhi Belly’ and writes, “Are we really so childish that we think that if someone produced a film with gaalis, he has to enjoy it every time bad language is used?”

He also talks about the kind of work Aamir does and writes, “The man goes out and actually talks about LGBT rights, risking his conservative fan base. Famous people, some even from the LGBT community haven’t done that. And it doesn’t count if you’re joking about it. If you have the balls, take a stand for the issue.

“The man takes on Powerful Godmen, in a genuine Satire. He makes a film about Dyslexia that actually makes a huge difference to parenting not only for special but all children. He actually apologises on National Television for having been part of regressive films. He takes on the media and the politicians in Peepli Live. And in almost every episode of Satyamev Jayate, he targets powerful lobbies.”
