Katrina Kaif will soon unveil her wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museum in London. The actress is the eighth Bollywood celebrity to have a wax statue at the prestigious museum. Unlike the other celebrities, her statue will have an Indian folk dance pose.

Katrina won the spot at the museum by receiving the maximum number of votes and beating Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in a contest started by the museum. Her inclusion has a special significance as she was voted by her fans, just as Amitabh Bachchan was in 2000.

Pinkvilla takes a look back at all the Bollywood stars who were honoured with a wax statue at Madame Tussauds:

Amitabh Bachchan: Amitabh Bachchan’s wax statue was installed at Madame Tussauds in 2000. He is the first living Asian to have been modelled in wax at the prestigious museum. The megastar is sporting a French beard look and wearing a black suit.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Aishwarya’s wax statue was unveiled in 2004 at Madame Tussauds London. She is the sixth Indian and second Bollywood celebrity to have a wax statue there.

Shah Rukh Khan: In 2007, Shah Rukh Khan became the third Bollywood celebrity to have a wax statue installed at Madame Tussauds London. The superstar’s statue flaunts his cute dimple too. He is wearing a black suit and has his hands folded.

Salman Khan: Salman’s wax statue was installed in 2008. His wax figure features his well-built physique and is also sporting his bracelet.

Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik was the fifth Bollywood celebrity to have a wax figure installed at Madame Tussauds London. It was unveiled on January 20, 2011. The actor’s statue is sporting a look from his movie ‘Dhoom:2’ with wide open shirt revealing his six-pack-abs.

Kareena Kapoor Khan: Kareena’s wax lookalike was installed at Madame Tussauds London in 2011. The actress look in the statue is from ‘Mauja hi mauja’ from her movie ‘Jab We Met’.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene: Madhuri’s wax statue was installed in 2012. The dancing diva’s wax lookalike is sporting a pink coloured saree with a beautiful smile.

Katrina’s statue will be unveiled on March 27 and will be open for guests from March 28. It was created by a team of 20 sculptors and artists over a four month period, using hundreds of precise measurements taken at a sitting in Mumbai and cost £150,000 to create.
